Welcome to the Life Education bCyberwise online resource for teachers and middle primary students.
Our students are learning the social skills they need to thrive in the world around them - 21st century students also need to navigate the digital landscape, developing knowledge and skills to help them become safe and responsible users of technology; "digital citizens", if you will.
Life Education recognises that issues such as Cyber Safety, Bullying and Respect can have an impact on a young person's health and wellbeing now - and long into the future.
As a teacher you may consider yourself a "digital native" - someone who has never known life without the internet and mobile phones. You may be "connected" all the time. Or, maybe you are a "Newbie"- you still have your "digital "L" plates", learning new skills and rules as you go. Perhaps you are somewhere in between. You feel comfortable engaging in cyberspace but, as things change rapidly and technology progresses you realise there is always more to learn (and let's face it, it's often our students who are teaching us!)
The bCyberwise program and supporting resources have been designed for all of us - the techno savvy and the techno scared.
Within this resource you will find lesson plans, interactive activities and supporting material you can use with your class after their Life Education lesson. We have even provided you with fact sheets to give you helpful background information on each topic! We recommend that you view all material in this resource prior to using it with your students.
From the menu page you will find links to each of the six lessons. For each lesson you will be provided with a suggested process for delivering the lesson; the learning outcomes; teacher's notes and printable PDF's and worksheets. You will also find a link to the interactive resources: puzzles, quizzes and stories that can be shared with your class to add an extra dimension to your teaching and their learning. We trust you will enjoy using the bCyberwise resource and find it an enriching experience for your students.
We look forward to your feedback and encourage you to complete our online evaluation and feedback survey. So... Here we go!
