Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples have a particular way of dealing with death, loss and grief, and specific periods of mourning.

In this activity you will research a community to build your understanding and skills of community protocols concerning the passing away of a community member and periods of mourning.

Select the images to see the sorts of things that might need to be considered when finding out about community protocols.

Gather and record the information you find out and hand it to your trainer. If you do not work in a particular community, talk to your trainer about how to do this research activity.
