Enid Warringar, health worker mentor

Support clients

To be an effective health care worker you need to have an understanding of ‘Sorry business’, grief and loss. Different Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities have different names, customs and protocols for dealing with loss, grief and death.

For Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities a bereavement often involves the entire community. In working with this client you will:

  • offer bereavement support
  • research community protocols
  • debrief.

Use the left menu to work through offering bereavement support, researching community protocols and debriefing. Or, just jump in where you left off last time.
